TuffRider Ladies Lexington Tall Country Boots

As a frequent competitor in rainy locales, I wanted to invest in some boots that would keep me warm and dry and preferably fashionable. These have now been utilized at four soggy shows with record-breaking rain as well as a multi-day horse camping trip (rainy too!) in the mountains. I am 5'5" with average size calves (I order standard width for my hunt boots) and these offer plenty of room. They easily pull on/off with jeans or breeches.They are quite tall, so I would caution people shorter than me as they might impede your position, but I find them to be the perfect height and width. My only gripe from a fit perspective is that they do seem to run a bit long. I am typically an 8.5 or 9 so I opted for the 9 given the whole sizes, but I think I might have been able to make an 8 work. I didn't have the time to exchange, and the 9s are usable, but I do feel like I'm clomping/shuffling more than I would in a better fitting boot. On the upside, I am able to wear two pairs of wool socks when it's really cold and no amount of insulation will keep your extremities warm. The horse camping was this past weekend in upper 30/low 40 degree weather, and I wore these with two pairs of socks and fleece breeches, and I was comfortable in the saddle for several hours.The material is does feel more like vinyl than leather, but as long as these perform, I'm okay with it for the price point. They are also great in the saddle- I've ridden both hunter and western with no issues.
