The Cat Safety Gate Extra Bar is designed for extra protection and narrows the space between each bar or your wall.
Please note that Extra Bars do not physically extend the gate further than the original adjuster bolts allow. The Extra Bars are designed to allow for an opening wider than 37.5 without compromising the safety of your pets.
While the distance between each bar can be adjusted, we highly recommend that the bars are adjusted to be less than 1.8 from each other to prevent cats from squeezing through the sides of the gate.
